UHAS Vice Chancellor encourages young women to embrace volunteerism for self-development

Professor Lydia Aziator, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), recently delivered a compelling message at the ‘Ghana Grows’ roundtable engagement.

The event, organized by the Springboard Road Show Foundation in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, focused on empowering young women through volunteerism.

As the first Ghanaian nurse to achieve the rank of full professor in the West Africa sub-region, Professor Aziator highlighted the importance of volunteerism in personal growth and empowerment. She shared insights from her own journey, emphasizing the value of establishing networks and collaborations for individual upliftment.

During her address on women’s empowerment, Professor Aziator inspired ambitious young women with her personal story of success. She stressed the transformative potential of volunteerism in building skills, expanding networks, and fostering community engagement.

Recognizing the challenges faced by women, Professor Aziator encouraged them to seize opportunities for self-improvement and advancement. She urged young women to actively participate in volunteer activities, emphasizing the positive impact on personal and professional development.
