In a bid to preserve and celebrate the rich history of Ghana, Ghana Post has unveiled a commemorative postage stamp featuring the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Ministry of Communication and Digitilization has expressed its commitment to using digital technology to ensure that the country’s historical narrative is not only preserved but also made accessible to all. By digitizing and disseminating the collective memory of Ghana, the Ministry aims to enhance the appreciation of the country’s history through modern tools.

During the unveiling of the commemorative stamp at the Manhyia Palace, the sector Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, emphasized the importance of keeping the history alive and interactive. This initiative is a token of Ghana’s resolve to honor significant figures in history, such as the Asantehene, especially as he celebrates his silver jubilee.

The commemorative stamp represents more than just a postage stamp; it symbolizes cultural remembrance and historical appreciation. It serves as a powerful tool to honor and remember the remarkable contributions of Asantehene to the Asante Kingdom and Ghana as a whole.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful called on Ghanaians to embrace the stamp and ongoing digital initiatives as a reminder of the country’s strong heritage and its future aspirations. She highlighted the enduring legacy of the visionary leader and the impact he has had on the nation over the past 25 years.

The Managing Director of Ghana Post, Bice Osei-Kuffour, reiterated the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence in preserving Ghana’s stories and sharing them with the world. The unveiling of 12 stamps, including crypto stamps and postal stamps, showcases Ghana Post’s dedication to celebrating the country’s rich heritage both locally and internationally.
