Education is a fundamental aspect of any nation’s development, and to ensure equitable access to quality education in Ghana, active collaboration is essential.

Dr. Edmund Adinkra-Darko, the Research Officer of the Public Utilities Workers’ Union of TUC-Ghana, emphasized the importance of addressing challenges such as poor infrastructure, shortage of qualified teachers, and inadequate textbooks in the education sector.

Speaking at the 2nd quadrennial National Delegates Conference of TEWU Youth in Kasoa, Dr. Adinkra-Darko highlighted the theme of the conference, which focused on “Fostering Partnership for Equitable Education Delivery in Ghana: The Role of TEWU Youth.” He emphasized that the youth possess the energy, passion, knowledge, and power to drive positive changes in the education sector if effectively mobilized.

To achieve the desired transformation in the education sector, Dr. Adinkra-Darko called for the capacity building of TEWU youth through training programs, workshops, conferences, and mentorship opportunities. He encouraged them to establish partnerships with various entities to enhance education delivery in the country.

Mr. Mark Dankyira Korankye, the General Secretary of TEWU-TUC Ghana, echoed the belief that involving the youth in all activities would lead to success. He urged authorities to ensure equal access to quality education and address gender barriers that hinder girl-child education.

Additionally, Mr. Ambrose Yao Kwadzodza, the National Chairman of TEWU-TUC Ghana, assured the youth of leadership support to develop their potential and prepare them for future leadership roles. He emphasized the importance of hard work, collaboration, and idea-sharing among the youth to enhance the Union’s effectiveness.

Mr. Isaac H.B. Armah Jnr., the Chairman of the TEWU Youth Committee of TUC-Ghana, highlighted the achievements of the Union, including the development of a constitution, successful organization of regional youth conferences, and youth representation in the TUC Youth Council.

In conclusion, the youth are recognized as vital partners in driving equitable education delivery in Ghana, and their active involvement and empowerment are crucial for the sector’s advancement. Dr. Adinkra-Darko and other leaders emphasized the need for unity, fairness, and technological adoption to ensure sustainable development and progress in the education sector.
