Former Deputy Minister of Information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, is not holding back when it comes to criticizing the Economic Management Team (EMT) led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a recent post on his X platform, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu accused Dr. Bawumia of failing in his role as head of the EMT, resulting in a struggling Ghanaian economy.
According to Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, Ghana’s economy has taken a nosedive under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, with unsustainable debts and a devalued local currency being just a few of the issues plaguing the country.
He also highlighted the challenges faced by over a million bondholders, including pensioners, whose funds have been seized by the government due to its inability to pay.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu did not hold back in his criticism, stating that Dr. Bawumia’s poor performance is likely to cost him the 2024 elections. He accused the Vice President of avoiding economic discourse and instead trying to portray himself as a relatable figure.
The scathing comments made by Mr. Kwakye Ofosu have sparked a debate on social media, with many questioning the effectiveness of Dr. Bawumia’s leadership of the EMT.
As Ghana continues to grapple with economic challenges, it remains to be seen what steps will be taken to address the situation and restore stability to the economy.
