The New Patriotic Party (NPP) seems confident about their chances in the ongoing Ejisu by-election, with the Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, expressing optimism that their candidate, Kwabena Boateng, will emerge victorious.
Ahiagbah believes that a win for Boateng will not only be a tribute to the late Dr. John Kumah but also a precursor to a successful campaign for the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming general elections on December 7th.
The by-election, triggered by the unfortunate passing of Dr. John Kumah, has drawn over 100,000 voters to decide on who will represent the Ejisu Constituency in Parliament.
Among the six candidates vying for the seat are former MP Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, NPP’s Kwabena Boateng, and other independent and party-affiliated candidates.
Despite some allegations of ballot box stuffing to rig the election, the Electoral Commission has reassured the public of a free, fair, and transparent voting process.
The Commission debunked the claims of ballot tampering, emphasizing the transparent and open nature of the voting and counting procedures.
As the voting progresses, the Commission urged candidates to appoint vigilant agents to oversee the process and ensure a smooth election.
With the assurance of timely and efficient polling at all 204 stations, the Ejisu by-election is expected to be concluded without any hitches.
