Former NDC constituency organizer for Ejisu, Ransford Kwaku Mensah, has thrown his weight behind independent candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi in the ongoing by-election in Ejisu Constituency.

In a recent interview with TV3’s Ibrahim Abubakar in Ejisu, Mensah emphasized that Aduomi is the best candidate among all the aspirants, especially since the NDC decided not to contest in the poll.

He believes that Aduomi genuinely cares about the well-being of the constituency and urged all NDC members to vote for him.

The by-election, triggered by the passing of the late Dr. John Kumah, has seen six candidates vying for the parliamentary seat.

Apart from Aduomi, the other candidates include Kwabena Boateng from the New Patriotic Party, Esther Osei from the Convention People’s Party, Beatrice Boakye from the Liberal Party of Ghana, as well as independent candidates Freduah Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph.

With over 100,000 voters participating in the election today to select a new representative for the people of Ejisu Constituency, the Electoral Commission has reassured the public of a fair and transparent process.

Despite allegations of ballot box stuffing by some candidates, the Commission refuted these claims, emphasizing the transparency of the voting process.

The Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Benjamin Bannor-Bio, urged candidates to deploy vigilant agents to oversee the voting process effectively.

He also advised candidates to trust the system and ensure that their agents are knowledgeable and competent in defending their rights.

Furthermore, the EC officials have assured that there will be no delays at the 204 polling stations, providing a smooth and efficient electoral process for the residents of Ejisu Constituency.
