Is Tommy Lee stil a member of Mötley Crüe?

Tommy Lee performed his first complete gig on Mötley Crüe’s stadium tour Friday night, June 28, after breaking four ribs earlier this month.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, his return to a full performance took place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte at the seventh leg of the tour.

Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass on October 3, 1962, in Athens, Greece.

Lee was four years old when he received his first drumsticks, and he was a teenager when he received his first full drum equipment. He dropped out of high school to pursue a musical career, beginning with the L.A. club band Suite 19.

He listened to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC, and Sweet as a youngster. John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen, and Terry Bozzio are his primary drumming inspirations.

Sixx was putting up a theatrical band that drew heavily on Sister’s blending of occult imagery with a theatrical heavy metal performance, and he became a fan of Lee’s drumming. Due to his 6’212″ height and slender frame, Lee lost his surname and gained the moniker “T-bone” during this time period.

When London disbanded in 1981, Lee and Sixx decided to join a new band together. Mick Mars, a guitarist, soon joined the band. Seeking a compelling leader, Lee introduced to the others a vocalist he had met informally in high school, Vince Neil; Neil quickly joined the group, and Mötley Crüe was established.
