In Brooklyn, Tony Sirico’s friends and family gathered to pay their respects to the late actor from the Sopranos.

Many of his prominent friends and co-stars, including Lorraine Bracco and Steven Van Zandt, who were stalwarts of the Sopranos, paid tribute to Sirico, who was best remembered for playing Tony Soprano’s loose cannon captain Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri.

According to the New York Post, Father Robert Sirico, who offered the ceremony’s words of memory, quipped, “My friends, if Paulie Walnuts can steal paradise, so can you and I.”

Born Gennaro Anthony Sirico Jr. on July 29, 1942, Siricio had his funeral mass broadcast live from the Basilica of Regia Pacis in Brooklyn. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Queens.

Robert mentioned the ‘faithful and exuberant fans’ who had attended the mass with Sirico’s family, friends, and coworkers.

In addition to Bracco, who played Tony Soprano’s psychiatrist and therapist and was second in line behind the late actor James Gandolfini, and Van Zandt, who played Silvio Dante, Joseph Gannascoli also paid his respects.
