Ageing musicians in Kumasi receive support from MUSIGA

As part of their aim to support the ageing and incapacitated musicians in the country, MUSIGA os said to have presented some cash donations to some ageing musicians in Kumasi.

About 23 ageing musicians are said to have benefited from this donation which is through the union’s ‘Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund’.

Speaking at the event, First Vice President of the Union, Bessa Simons is said to have called on the current generation of musicians and corporate Ghana to support the fund to ensure that it grows to give support to more musicians as they age.

The Secretary of the fund , J.V Owusu, is also reported to have disclosed that the fund, an initiative by the President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffuor (Obuor)  has supported numerous ageing and incapacitated musicians since it’s establishment in 2011 and assured the veterans of continued support from the Union.
