Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) has recently been vindicated by an audit report conducted by KPMG, absolving them of any alleged wrongdoing as portrayed in The Fourth Estate’s documentary.
The company, known for its unique services, has been under scrutiny following the expose but maintains that they have operated within legal boundaries.
In an interview on JoyNews’ Newfile programme, Serwaa Sarpong, who oversees Support Management at SML, reiterated the company’s commitment to providing legitimate services to its clients while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
She emphasized that SML’s services are not easily found in the market, which is why they were contracted by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The KPMG audit, initiated by President Akufo-Addo in response to the Fourth Estate’s revelations, was supposed to be completed by January 16, 2024, but the deadline was extended to February 23, 2024.
The audit findings indicated that SML had received GH¢1,061,054,778 since 2018 while fulfilling its obligations partially.
Despite the findings, SML has challenged the report, claiming that it ultimately justifies their contract with GRA. The company maintains that they are fully compliant with relevant regulations and will continue to operate transparently and responsibly.
The audit report by KPMG has brought clarity to the situation, with President Akufo-Addo acknowledging that SML has not engaged in any unlawful activities.
Moving forward, SML remains dedicated to providing quality services to its clients and abiding by the law.
