Chris Cuomo is a famous American television journalist who is best known as the former presenter of Cuomo Prime Time, a weeknight news analysis show on CNN.
Chris Cuomo worked previously for ABC as the News chief law and justice correspondent and a co-anchor.
Chris Cuomo interviewed his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, on his CNN program while recovering from COVID-19 in early 2020.
After reports about sexual harassment allegations against Andrew surfaced, Cuomo disclosed that on his program in March 2021 that he could not cover any issues regarding the allegations on the program, acknowledging his obvious conflict of interest.
Why did CNN sack Chris Cuomo?
Chris Cuomo was initially suspended indefinitely by CNN on November 30, 2021 after he was found to have helped his brother formulate his brother Andrew’s statement in response to the allegations. Chris apologized in a statement but said it was wrong for him to do so.
Chris Cuomo came out to also label his suspension as embarrassing. He was relieved of his post on December 4th, 2021 after a law firm conducted a review. CNN had said it was going further to investigate Chris Coumo regarding his involvement in his brother’s case.
