The Deputy Chairman of operations of the Electoral Commission (EC), Samuel Tettey, has reassured the public that the EC is not capable of rigging elections in favor of any political party or candidate in Ghana.
In a recent statement, Tettey emphasized the transparency of the electoral process, highlighting the involvement of all stakeholders, especially political parties. He emphasized that the process is designed to prevent any form of manipulation or bias, making it impossible to rig elections in the country.
Tettey also emphasized the importance of focusing on training for political party agents at polling stations to ensure effective observation of the electoral process. He stressed that elections are won at the polling stations and not at the EC headquarters, urging parties to take responsibility for training their agents.
Furthermore, Tettey highlighted the need for all political parties to have mechanisms in place for the collation of results from all polling stations to ensure accurate final results for both presidential and parliamentary elections. He pointed out that the EC has established a thorough process for collecting and consolidating election results from all 38,622 polling stations across Ghana.
