Steven Paul Jobs was an American businessman, industrial designer, media mogul, and investor. Jobs grew up in San Francisco, the son of a Syrian father and a German-American mother. Jobs was adopted soon after birth. Jobs enrolled at Reed College in 1972 before dropping out the following year. Jobs traveled through India in 1974 in search of enlightenment before studying Zen Buddhism.

After a long power struggle with the company’s board and its then-CEO, John Sculley, Jobs was forced out of Apple in 1985. That same year, Jobs led a group of Apple employees to establish NeXT, a computer platform development firm specializing in computers for higher-education and business markets. In addition, when he funded George Lucas’ Lucasfilm’s computer graphics division in 1986, he helped to develop the visual effects industry.

Schieble became pregnant with Jobs in 1954, while spending the summer with his family in Homs with Jandali. Jandali claims Schieble purposefully excluded him from the process: “Without telling me, Joanne upped and left to move to San Francisco to have the baby without anyone knowing, including me.”
