Ghanaian broadcast journalist at Tanga Radio, Samuel Mbura has lambasted the RTP Awards organisers for combining three regions in one category.

According to him, the Upper East,West and Northern are separate regions, thus, categorising them as one makes less sense.

We saw his post on Facebook and we decided to share with you.

He wrote (unscripted): “This RTP Nonsense about the Upper East,West and Northern regions combined in one category must end!

The organizers of this RTP Awards have repeatedly taken a nonsensical posture that some of us up North are not happy about .

Upper east, West and Northern Regions are three separate regions but the Organizers of this ” selective ” and “paid for” Awards have always decided to combine them as one whiles other regions stand alone.

To set the records,we in the Upper regions are not begging you to add us to your Awards but all what we are advocating for is to give as that respect ! We see this posture of yours demeaning and an insult to our regions, hence must end!

To make things clearer to you, with or without your award, these regions are performing well than even some of your nominated stations in the various categories.

Perhaps ,it is high time we boycotted your awards so that you will realize the stupid clustering you have making in your awards!

Thanks!
