The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale to publicly retract and apologize for his disrespectful comments towards fellow musician Stonebwoy.

Shatta Wale had made derogatory remarks about Stonebwoy’s disability after the latter decided to boycott an event where Shatta Wale was scheduled to perform.

In a viral video, Shatta Wale was seen taunting Stonebwoy, referring to him as a “disabled man” and challenging him to a physical altercation. The GSPD strongly condemned Shatta Wale’s behavior, emphasizing that such mockery towards individuals with disabilities is unacceptable and offensive.

President of the society, Mathhew Annor, stated that if Shatta Wale fails to apologize within the stipulated time frame, they will take legal action against him. The GSPD has demanded a public apology from Shatta Wale to all persons with disabilities and requested the removal of the offensive video from social media platforms.

Furthermore, the society reminded Shatta Wale that making derogatory remarks about a person’s disability is a violation of the Disability Act 715, and should not be taken lightly. Ghanaians are urged to denounce Shatta Wale’s irresponsible behavior and show support for individuals with disabilities.

The GSPD emphasized that such primitive and disrespectful comments should not be tolerated, especially coming from a high-profile personality like Shatta Wale. The society called for unity in condemning such behavior and promoting inclusivity and respect towards all members of society.
