Robert Anthony Plant CBE (born 20 August 1948) is an English singer and songwriter best known as the main singer and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin from 1968 until 1980 when the band disbanded following the death of the band’s drummer, John Bonham. Plant and the band were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

From the late 1960s to the end of the 1970s, Plant had immense success with Led Zeppelin. He cultivated a fascinating image as a charismatic rock-and-roll frontman, akin to Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, Roger Daltrey of the Who, Jim Morrison of the Doors, and Freddie Mercury of Queen.

Plant continued to perform and record on a variety of solo and group projects after Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980. The Honeydrippers, his first well-known post-Led Zeppelin act, included former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, among others.

In 1988, he released the solo album Now and Zen, which spawned the hit singles “Tall Cool One” and “Ship of Fools”. In the 1990s, another reunion group called Page and Plant published two studio albums and a live CD from an MTV Unplugged performance, as well as earning the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Most High” in 1998.

He began working with bluegrass vocalist Alison Krauss in 2007, releasing the album Raising Sand, which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2009. He also produced the popular song “Please Read the Letter,” which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year the same year.

In 2010, he resurrected the Band of Joy (named after an early band he performed in the 1960s), and in 2012, he founded the Sensational Space Shifters, which was followed by a reunion with Alison Krauss in 2019.

Rolling Stone editors ranked him 15th on their list of the 100 greatest singers of all time in 2008. Plant was voted the greatest lead singer of all time by Rolling Stone readers in 2011. Hit Parader magazine awarded Plant the “Greatest Metal Vocalist of All Time” in 2006. Plant was named “the greatest voice in rock” in a survey sponsored by the UK classic rock radio station Planet Rock in 2009.

He is ranked 63rd on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “200 greatest singers of all time” in 2023.

Robert Plant children: Meet Karac Pendragon Plant, Carmen Jane Plant, Logan Romero Plant, Jesse Lee Plant

On November 9, 1968, Plant married Maureen Wilson. The couple has three children: Carmen Jane (1968), (who later married Charlie Jones, Plant’s bass player for solo tours), and Karac Pendragon (1972-1977). (1979). In August 1983, the couple filed for divorce. Karac, their five-year-old son, died of a stomach sickness during Led Zeppelin’s 1977 US tour. “All My Love,” a song co-written with John Paul Jones, is a dedication to him.

Carmen Jane Plant is the fortunate daughter of one of rock and roll’s most iconic frontmen, Robert Plant. She was born in Birmingham, England on October 21, 1968. Carmen was Robert’s only daughter and the first child of his marriage to Maureen Plant.

Karac Pendra Plant (April 20, 1972 – July 26, 1977) was the son of Led Zeppelin guitarist Robert Plant. Karac Plant was born in the English county of Worcestershire. He was Carmen Plant’s younger brother and the first son of Robert and Maureen Plant.

Logan Romero is an English singer-songwriter who also sings lead for the Black Country Bandits and the Sons of Albion. He is the youngest son of Maureen Plant and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.

Logan Romero attended the University of Wales, where he earned a Diploma in Sports Massage. He, like his father, was an adolescent football player before deciding to pursue a career in music. In 2000, he played center-half forward for Inter Cardiff of the League of Wales.

Jesse Lee Plant is the youngest of Robert Plant’s three children, the other two being Maureen Wilson and Shirley Wilson. Jesse’s life is little known, except that he was born from his father’s problematic relationship with his mother, Shirley Wilson.

While the circumstances surrounding Jesse’s birth remain disputed, his family appears to have moved on. His celebrity father is not now with Shirley or Maureen but has teamed up with them to raise their four children, which he had with each of them individually.
