The government of Ghana has swiftly responded to public feedback by correcting 67 inaccuracies on the Performance Tracker platform just 72 hours after its launch.
The Information Ministry acknowledged that citizens had reported these errors within 48 hours of the platform’s release and expressed gratitude for the public’s vigilance.
In a post on Twitter, the Ministry stated, “After the successful rollout of the Performance Tracker, the government appreciates the significant interest and scrutiny from citizens. This level of engagement reflects the public’s dedication to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the information presented.”
Furthermore, the Ministry disclosed that 74 projects that were previously omitted from the platform have now been included. The post emphasized the importance of these corrections, stating, “These have been corrected. Our attention has also been drawn to some 74 projects which should have been included as they had been concluded by June 2023. These have also been included.”
The government launched the Performance Tracker on April 10 with the goal of promoting transparency and accountability in infrastructure projects across the nation.
Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, highlighted the platform’s crucial role in ensuring accountability and transparency in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah revealed that the tracker contains information on over 13,000 projects. He emphasized that the platform is an enhanced version of the Delivery Tracker introduced by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2020, underscoring its importance in monitoring the progress of various projects nationwide.
