In a recent incident that unfolded during a journey from Cape Coast to Twifo Praso, businessman Daniel Anane showcased remarkable courage by unveiling a fake military officer and a suspected drug peddler in a shared commercial vehicle.
As the trip progressed, a male passenger turned violent against another traveler, raising alarm among fellow commuters. Identifying himself as a military officer, the assailant claimed to have found illegal drugs on the victim, using this as a basis for his aggressive behavior.
Fueled by suspicion, Anane demanded proof of the individual’s identity but received none.
Unconvinced by the supposed military officer’s story, Anane insisted on immediate action. He directed the driver to head straight to the Twifo Hemang police station, where both the accused passenger and the alleged soldier were apprehended.
Subsequent searches by the police uncovered two suspicious parcels on the accused passenger, suspected to be marijuana, and needles along with injectable substances on the imposter soldier as well.
During questioning, the imposter’s claims kept changing. Initially posing as a radio presenter, he later asserted to be a veterinary doctor. Yet, he couldn’t provide any form of identification to substantiate his professions.
At the moment this case now lies with the Twifo Hemang police, who have initiated further investigations into the matter.
