Michael Lang was a well-known American concert promoter, producer, and artistic manager. He was best known as a co-creator of the popular Woodstock Music & Art Festival in 1969.
In event organization, Michael Lang served as the event’s organizer and also the organizer for follow-ups Woodstock ’94 and the ill-fated Woodstock ’99. He went into managing Joe Cocker after Woodstock.
In 2019, Michael Lang co-founded and produced the planned Woodstock 50 which was later canceled though.

Michael Lang died on January 8, 2022, at the age of 77 in the United States. He is reported to have died of a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.
Michael Lang left behind his wife Tamara, their sons Harry and Laszlo, and his daughters LariAnn, Shala, and Molly who are all saddened by the demise of their father.
