Josef Korbel was a Czechoslovakia’s ambassador to Yugoslavia, diplomat and political scholar.

She was a Jewish-born Czech-American. His children were of course Madeleine Albright,  Katherine Korbel  and John Korbel.

He later became a professor of international politics at the University of Denver.

Josef Korbel School of International Studies was born during his last years as a professor.

Korbel died of natural causes on July 18, 1977.
