The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has made it clear that his party will not recognize any illegal contracts signed by the Akufo-Addo government if they come into power.

Speaking at the NDC’s Moment of Truth series in Accra, Gyamfi emphasized the party’s stance against corruption, specifically mentioning the controversial deal between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and SML.

This deal allegedly resulted in SML receiving monthly payments of up to GH¢24 million for downstream services.

Gyamfi assured that if the NDC wins the 2024 elections, they will investigate the SML scandal and ensure the state recovers any illegal payments made. He also highlighted former President John Mahama’s pledge to disregard any illegal contracts with SML.

In response to President Nana Akufo-Addo’s decision to terminate the SML contract, Gyamfi stated that the NDC would conduct its investigation into the matter.

He pointed out the NPP’s past stance on sole-sourcing and procurement breaches, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in government procurements.

Gyamfi reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and value for money in all government operations. He echoed the sentiments of the party’s Running Mate for the 2024 elections, promising to hold individuals involved in corrupt practices accountable.

The  NDC’s unwavering stance against corruption and commitment to upholding transparency in government dealings highlight their determination to lead with integrity and accountability.
