The Chairman of the South African National Democratic Congress (NDC) Council of Elders, Benjamin Kofi Quashie, has declared that the NDC’s choice of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for the upcoming presidential election has left the New Patriotic Party (NPP) feeling threatened.

Describing Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as a person of impeccable character and a perfect match for former President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Quashie highlighted her impressive credentials. As the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, her numerous accolades in academia, and her previous role at the Ministry of Education, make her a highly qualified and competent candidate for the position of vice president.

In an interview on Accra FM, Mr. Quashie emphasized that the NPP is intimidated by Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s capabilities, leading them to launch baseless attacks against her. Despite this, he noted that her nomination has not been tarnished by any proven allegations or accusations.

Mr. Quashie praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s fearless and eloquent campaign speech, emphasizing her dedication and passion. He commended her for her integrity and unwavering commitment to the development of the country.

With the NDC’s nomination of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as the vice-presidential candidate, Mr. Quashie believes that she will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, promising a brighter future for the country.
