Renowned gospel singer, Philipa Baafi, has shared her inspiring journey of academic success after overcoming numerous challenges to further her education.
The talented musician recently achieved first-class honors in Physician Assistant course, despite being over 40 years old.
In a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God, Philipa Baafi reflected on the difficulties she faced after losing both parents following her graduation from Senior High School (SHS).
Despite these setbacks, she remained determined to pursue her dreams of higher education, which led her to apply for a Physician Assistant course later in life.
After finding stability in her music career, Philipa decided to enroll in a tertiary medical program to fulfil her aspiration of becoming a healthcare professional. To her surprise and delight, she excelled in her studies and received top honors upon completing the course.
In a video shared by Zionfelix on Instagram, Philipa shared her emotional journey, stating, “I lost my parents during my primary school years, and my mother passed away when I entered SHS.
Although I excelled academically, it was a challenging period for me. Besides my passion for music, I harboured a strong desire to pursue a career in medicine.”
Addressing the hiatus in her music career, Philipa’s husband, Dr. Kwame Karikari, explained that she intentionally took a break to focus on her studies and enhance her qualifications to remain relevant in the industry.
After four years of dedication to her studies, Philipa marked her return to music with the release of her latest single, ‘Eda Ho pefee.’
