According to the information gathered, he was murdered by a gang of four men who attacked his home in Kenya on April 1, 1989. Together with his wife, Viola Whittaker, they were subjected to a brutal attack by the said gang men leading to his demise. His wife was tortured for eight hours.
Edward was the son of John Henry Whittaker and Emily Hadfield. He was born to his parents on February 3, 1905, in Basford, Staffordshire, England. At the time of his death, he was 84. His wife, Viola is also dead. She is said to have passed away on September 4, 1996, in Herefordshire, England
