Cheryl Baker, a former Eurovision champion, has nominated Cardiff as the ideal location to host the event in 2023.
It follows the announcement by the contest’s organizers that the UK will host the competition instead of Ukraine, which took first place in this year’s competition due to the continuing conflict in that nation.
London, Manchester, and Sheffield are just a few of the cities vying for the honor.
Lulu, a different previous victor, has made a plea for Glasgow, where she is from.
“It needs to travel to a city where there is an international airport, where they have a big enough stadium, where there are enough hotels, so that way,” said Baker, a member of Bucks Fizz when they won in 1981 with their pop classic “Making Your Mind Up.”
Following a legal dispute with former member Bobby G, Bucks Fizz changed their name and resurfaced as The Fizz a few years ago.
The UK will host the “largest musical spectacular in the world” for a ninth time, more than any other nation, according to their performer, who called it an incredible honor.
She emphasized that the 2022 winners should still play a significant role, though.
