During the launch event held on Wednesday, April 24, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, the Founding CEO of Chief Executives (CEO) Network Ghana, highlighted the summit’s objective of addressing the current challenges and opportunities in Ghana’s business environment.
This year’s summit, themed “Reigniting Business and Economic Growth: Charting a Path Forward,” focuses on the crucial roles of economic diversification and AI transformation in fostering resilience, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
Mr Egyir also stressed the importance of exploring the transformative potential of AI across various industries, ensuring inclusive benefits, and navigating regulatory and ethical considerations.
He further mentioned that the summit will delve into discussions on the intersection of AI with other emerging technologies like 5/6G, quantum computing, and biotechnology, urging forward-thinking approaches to leverage technological advancements effectively.
The summit will feature panel discussions on topics such as private sector development, sustainable economic growth strategies, and the impact of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on manufacturing.
Additionally, CEOs will explore the potential of transforming businesses into African multinational companies and revitalizing state-owned enterprises through economic diversification and AI transformation.
Furthermore, the summit aims to address concerns about political leadership ethics and best practices, emphasizing the need for a strong partnership between the private and public sectors to drive economic transformation.
As part of the summit, there will be a Ghana CEO Excellence Awards – Honours session to celebrate exemplary achievements of CEOs and businesses contributing to Ghana’s economic development.
In his remarks, Moses Kwesi Baiden Junior, the Chief Executive Officer of Margins Group, highlighted the pivotal role of AI in driving economic change in the fourth industrial revolution, emphasizing responsible and ethical leveraging of AI’s potential.
Another speaker, Vish Ashiagbor, the Country Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), emphasized the importance of partnerships between businesses and policymakers, highlighting the need for data-driven insights to advance development and quality of life for all.
