Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Nelson is calling on Ghanaians to join her in a massive campaign against the current erratic power cuts, known as ‘dumsor’. This is not the first time Yvonne has taken action against this issue.
Back in 2015, she, along with other celebrities, organized a protest under the previous John Mahama administration to express their frustration over the consistent power outages.
Now, Yvonne is seeking the support of the public once again to participate in a planned protest against ‘dumsor’.
In an open letter tweeted on her page on Tuesday, April 30, she urged Ghanaians, organizations, and legal professionals to unite in pushing for decisive action to address the ongoing power crisis.
The actress emphasized the importance of making their voices heard and putting pressure on leaders to prioritize the needs of the Ghanaian people. She highlighted the success of the 2015 ‘Dumsor’ campaign, which was supported by key individuals like IMANI Ghana’s Kofi Bentil, Prince David Osei, Sarkodie, and D Black.
Despite recognizing that some of these personalities have now aligned with specific political parties, Yvonne stressed the importance of setting aside political affiliations and coming together as one nation to tackle the issue of ‘dumsor’.
She mentioned that she has reached out to individuals from IMANI Ghana, including Franklyn Cudjoe and Kofi Bentil, to join the upcoming protest, but is yet to receive a response.
Yvonne Nelson’s efforts to mobilize support for this cause demonstrate her commitment to addressing critical issues affecting Ghanaians. With her determination and the support of the public, hopefully, this campaign will lead to positive change and a brighter future for Ghana.
