The Hound, also referred to as Sandor Clegane, was the personal bodyguard for Prince Joffrey Baratheon and the younger brother of Ser Gregor Clegane.
He is the bodyguard and personal assistant of Crown Prince Joffrey Baratheon in A Game of Thrones, who affectionately refers to him as “Dog” but doesn’t have the same kind of father King Robert does. While accompanying Sansa home, he shows her the scars on his face and declares his hatred for both his vicious older brother and the idea of knighthood in general.
Clegane leads the Lannister attack on Eddard Stark’s forces in the Tower of the Hand while pursuing Arya Stark’s friend Mycah during the Stark family purge.
Sandor Clegane is a skilled fighter who fights for House Lannister.
