Actress Lena Headey portrays the fictional Cersei Lannister in the epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by American author George R. R. Martin and its Game of Thrones television adaptation.

Cersei Lannister, the only daughter and oldest child of 56-year-old Tywin Lannister and his late wife Joanna, was born shortly after Jaime, her identical twin brother. At the beginning of the novel, Cersei has been queen consort for 14 years and is 32 years old.

When they were younger, Cersei and Jaime resembled one other so well that when she periodically wore his attire, many thought she was him. The twins experimented with sexual activities at a young age, but a servant spotted them and alerted their mother.

While hiding the incident from their father and admonishing the twins that she would let him know if they ever repeated it, Joanna assigned a guard to keep the twins apart.

Because of their connection with King Robert Baratheon, who abused Cersei during their marriage, she was elevated to the position of Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. After failing to betroth her to Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, whom she had grown to adore, her father Tywin arranged the marriage.

Why does Cersei Lannister hate Tyrion Lannister?

Tywin and Cersei despise Tyrion because they hold him responsible for the death of his mother, Joanna, who passed away while giving birth to him.
