David Benioff and D. B. Weiss created the HBO fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.

The show was shot in several countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It debuted on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and ended on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes spread across eight seasons.

Why did Varys and Jaime Lannister help Tyrion escape his execution?

Tyrion is rescued by Jaime from the black cells beneath the Red Keep. His brother informs him that he would be executed the next day and that he persuaded Varys into helping him charter a ship to transport Tyrion from King’s Landing.

Tyrion presses Jaime when he informs him that the rescue was a favor he owed him, and learns that Tysha was not a whore, but a crofter’s daughter, as she appeared. Lord Tywin had compelled Jaime to lie about Tysha all those years ago in order to teach Tyrion a lesson.

Tyrion is furious because his brother never told him the truth, and he punches Jaime in the face. Tyrion threatens him that he will get retribution on him, their father, and Cersei since a Lannister never fails to pay his debts.

Jaime then asks Tyrion if he poisoned Joffrey, and Tyrion, lying in his rage, admits to doing so. He also informs Jaime that Cersei is having affairs with Lancel, Ser Osmund, and possibly others and that if Joffrey had remained king, he would have been a monster worse than Aery.
