The prime suspect in the murder case of late MP for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah, has made a shocking revelation in court. Daniel Asiedu claims that he was nowhere near the legislator’s house when the incident took place.
According to Asiedu, on the day of the murder, he went to Agbogbloshie to engage the services of a prostitute after making a profit from selling flash drives filled with songs. After two rounds of intimate activities, he fell asleep at the lady’s residence.
Upon waking up, he went to a popular bar in Agblogbloshie to have an energy drink and a cigar. Upon his return, he found a crowd gathered at the lady’s house, looking for him. It was revealed that the pimp who came looking for him was actually a police informant.
Asiedu decided to report the incident at the Regional Police station after learning about the altercation between the pimp and the lady. He was later taken to meet IGP Dampare, accompanied by DSP Kofi Sarpong and DSP Afia Tenge.
Asiedu alleges that he was taken to an engine room, where DSP Kofi Sarpong allegedly attacked him with a machete and slapped him, forcing him to admit to the offenses. The suspect claims that he was threatened with death if he did not comply.
The court session also revealed details of Asiedu’s interactions with police informants and officers, shedding more light on the events leading up to his current situation. The case has been adjourned to May 29 for further witness testimony from Asiedu.
