Game of Thrones is an HBO fantasy drama series developed by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire trilogy, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.

The show was shot in the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It started on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes shown across eight seasons.

Why did Sansa Stark refuse to vote for Brandon as King of Westeros in ‘Game of Thrones’?

Sansa is not particularly opposed to her brother becoming a king. At first, she’s in protective big-sister mode, worried because she knows Bran doesn’t want to be king, and his disability prevents him from having children.

She was also concerned that rulers must have adequate successors. Hence when it becomes clear that those things don’t matter to Bran or the council, she appears to be supportive of her brother becoming king in general.

Additionally, her other objection is to Bran ruling over a realm that encompasses the North. Sansa, who has essentially led the Northerners for the previous few years (even if Jon was legally the King in the North), points out that the North has suffered too much as a result of Westeros’ conflicts and that they have no desire to pledge devotion to the southern crown again, even if that king is a Stark.

She instead vows that the North will remain independent, as it has for millennia. And, by the end of the series, Bran is crowned King of the Six Kingdoms, while Sansa takes the throne of the Seven Kingdoms, formally crowned Queen of the North.
