Why did Michelle Yeoh leave Star Trek?

Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress best known for her roles in the James Bond films Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and Memoirs of a Geisha (2006). Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are among her other credits.

In 2017, she was cast as Captain Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Discovery, a CBS All Access series.

Why did Michelle Yeoh leave Star Trek?

After three seasons on Star Trek: Discovery, Yeoh announced her departure in October 2020. “It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Star Trek: Discovery,” she said in a statement. I’ve had the honor of playing Captain Philippa Georgiou and developing her character over the past three seasons.
