Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress best known for her roles in the James Bond films Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and Memoirs of a Geisha (2006). Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are among her other credits.

In 2017, she was cast as Captain Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Discovery, a CBS All Access series.

Why did Michelle Yeoh leave Star Trek?

After three seasons on Star Trek: Discovery, Yeoh announced her departure in October 2020. “It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Star Trek: Discovery,” she said in a statement. I’ve had the honor of playing Captain Philippa Georgiou and developing her character over the past three seasons. I am extremely grateful to the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication, as well as to CBS and CBS All Access for their assistance. I’m excited to see what the future holds for all of us.”

An original “Star Trek: Discovery” cast member has announced his retirement. Michelle Yeoh’s Emperor Philippa Georgiou dies in this week’s episode.

Since the beginning of the series, the character has played an important role. Martin-Green plays Michael Burnham, a Star Trek character who returns her mother to the alternate universe.

Terra Firma will be the title of Michelle Yeoh’s final episode on Discovery. In a molecular spiral, the mirror universe and the regular universe are drifting apart.

Carl allows her to save herself by stepping through the rock ring. Georgiou appeared in Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. The Black Hawks received a lot of screen time in Season 2’s season finale.

Despite the fact that a new Star Trek series starring Yeoh is in the works, Yeoh’s farewell was emotional. Yeoh assures me that Georgiou is still alive and well in the Star Trek universe, and that there are many untold stories about her.
