Multiple award-winning Canadian rapper Drake seems to be at loggerheads with the Recording Academy again as he decides to pull out of the 64th Grammy.

The “God’s Plan” rapper earned two nominations at the 2022 Grammy – contesting for the Best Rap Album (for “Certified Lover Boy”) and for Best Rap Performance (for his song “Way 2 Sexy” feat. Future and Young Thug) categories.

While many musicians celebrate their 2022 Grammy nominations, Drake says he is not interested in the prestigious awards.

Why did Drake withdraw his 2022 Grammy nominations?

According to the Variety.com website, the reason why Drake withdrew his 2022 Grammy nominations is unclear – although some have linked it with his recent Astroworld Festival lawsuit. Last month, the concert held in Houston cost ten lives, and the organisers and headline act Travis Scott, including Drake, have been slapped with separate lawsuits by victims’ families.

The website said the rapper took the decision with his management, and the Recording Academy accepted it.
