American country music singer Patricia Lynn Yearwood was born on September 19, 1964. Yearwood was born in Monticello, Georgia, the daughter of local banker Jack Howard Yearwood and teacher Gwendolyn Yearwood. During the colonial era, Trisha Yearwood’s family immigrated to North America from England.

Her breakthrough song, “She’s in Love with the Boy,” which debuted at the top of the Billboard country songs list in 1991, helped her become famous. Over two million copies of its self-titled predecessor’s debut album were sold. Beginning in the early 1990s, Yearwood released a string of No. 1 country hits, including “Walkaway Joe” (1992), “The Song Remembers When” (1993), “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl)” (1994), and “Believe Me Baby (I Lied)” (1996).

Yearwood’s self-titled debut album was released in 1991. The album’s lead single, “She’s in Love with the Boy,” which rose to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, was a major factor in her success.

Three other songs from the album made it into the top ten of the country chart, including We Never Had a Broken Heart, The Woman Before Me, and That’s What I Like About You. Her debut album was later certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of two million and one million copies.
