Reynolds was born in 1962 in Dallas, Texas. He began playing bass guitar at a young age and eventually joined The Mavericks in 1989. The band released their debut album, “What a Crying Shame,” in 1990. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to launch the band’s career.

Reynolds and Yearwood met in 1992 when The Mavericks opened for her on tour. They began dating shortly after, and they were married in 1994 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The couple had no children together.

The marriage between Reynolds and Yearwood was reportedly troubled from the start. In 1997, Yearwood filed for divorce, but the couple reconciled. However, they divorced for good in 1999.
