Lord Ramsay Bolton, also referred to as Ramsay Snow, was Roose Bolton’s legitimated bastard son and the Lord of the Dreadfort. Soon after Ramsay’s birth, his mother took him to his father’s fortress, the Dreadfort, so that Roose would recognize him as his son.

When Roose realizes the infant is actually his, he almost has Ramsay’s mother whipped, and he almost kills the child. Amsay is Roose’s sole kid and the only candidate to succeed Roose as head of House Bolton in the absence of a child from his new wife, Fat Walda Frey.

As part of his father’s plan to undermine House Stark during the War of the Five Kings, Ramsay first proves his loyalty to Robb Stark, the King in the North, by aiding him in retaking Winterfell from Theon Greyjoy and sacking the fortress simultaneously.

After successfully seizing Winterfell from the Ironborn, Ramsay holds Theon captive and subjects him to horrific torture, referring to him as “Reek.”

After Robb’s assassination and the Red Wedding’s devastation of the Stark-loyal northern army, he is identified as Ramsay Bolton, having followed his father in declaring loyalty to House Lannister.
