Ronnie Spector, born Ronnie Yvette Greenfield on August 10, 1943, in New York City, was an American vocalist who co-founded and lead the girl group The Ronettes.

She is sometimes referred to as the original bad girl of rock & roll. In the late 50s, Ronnie created the singing group with her older sister, Estelle Bennett, and their cousin, Nedra Talley.

Who is Ronnie Spector’s son Donte Phillip Spector?

Ronnie Spector never had her own biological child while she was alive. All her three sons were adopted.

Donte was the very first child she and her husband took under their wings. He was adopted by the couple in 1969 when he was little.

Spector’s married life was fraught with problems. According to the late musician, her husband subjected her to various forms of abuse.

Phil, she claims, erected a gold coffin with a glass top in the basement after pledging to kill her and display her corpse if she ever left him. He allegedly encircled their home with barbed wire and guard dogs and confiscated her shoes to keep her from fleeing.

When he did let her out alone, she had to drive with a life-size dummy of Phil as a guide. She finally managed to flee their mansion barefooted in 1972 with the help of her mother.
