Betty White Ludden, better known as Betty White, is an American actress, comedian, author, and former game show host. She was born on January 17, 1922.
She is best known to modern audiences for her roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Sue Ann Nivens and The Golden Girls as Rose Nylund.
She is currently starring as Elka Ostrovsky in the TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland as of 2010[update]. Throughout her career, she has also published a number of books.
In August 2010, she signed a contract with G.P. Putnam Sons to write two more books, the first of which was set to be published in 2011.
Over the course of her career, White won seven Emmys and received 20 Emmy nominations, including one for best actress.
