On June 24, 1987, Messi was born in Rosario, Santa Fe. He is married to Celia Cuccittini, a worker at a magnet factory, and Jorge Messi, the manager of a steel plant.
He is the third of four children. On his father’s side, he is the great-grandson of immigrants from the northwest Adriatic Marche region of Italy, and on his mother’s side, his ancestry is primarily Italian.
Leo developed a love for football at a young age while playing with his older brothers Rodrigo and Matas, as well as his cousins Maximiliano and Emanuel Biancucchi, who both went on to play professionally. Leo grew up in a close-knit football-loving family.
