Born in Merced, California on August 13, 1961, Cary Stayner is the elder brother of Steven Stayner. Steven was kidnapped when he was seven years old and returned back to his family when he was 14 years.
Charges of the possessions of marijuana and methamphetamine against him were dropped in 1997. When got employed at Cedar Lodge motel in El Portal, California as a handyman, four people died around there within a period of five months.
Cary Stayner’s brother, Steven Stayner later died in an accident in 1989.
