What did Sam Bankman-fried do at Jane Street?

Bankman-Fried started trading international ETFs in the summer of 2013 at Jane Street Capital, a proprietary trading company. He began as an intern but after graduating went back full-time.

You might want to double-check your comparison if you believe that internships and entry-level positions in investment banks are handsomely compensated. According to a number of sources, Jane Street Capital, which describes itself as a “quantitative trading firm and liquidity provider with a distinctive focus on technology and collaborative problem solving,” pays a colossal amount more.

Bankman-Fried moved away from Jane Street in September 2017 and settled in Berkeley. From October to November of that year, he served as the director of development for the Centre for Effective Altruism.
