Renowned comedian Dave Chappelle shared some interesting encounters he had with O.J. Simpson in his Netflix special in 2019.
Chappelle revealed that he first met O.J. when he was just 18 years old and that Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole, was with him at the time.
Despite the controversy surrounding O.J. Simpson and the murders of Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, Dave described Nicole as very nice and embracing towards him.
After the infamous trial of the century, where O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the murders, Dave Chappelle found himself face to face with “The Juice” once again.
He detailed an incident at a restaurant where he accidentally exclaimed O.J.’s name out loud, to the shock of others present. Despite the negative reactions from people who overheard the conversation, Dave defended his actions, stating, “That murderer ran for over 11,000 yards, and he was acquitted, so you know, f**k it.”
Chappelle’s encounters with O.J. Simpson didn’t end there. The two met backstage after one of Chappelle’s shows and engaged in a 90-minute conversation filled with warmth, humor, and wisdom, according to the comedian. However, as soon as Simpson left the room, Dave turned to his friends and remarked, “He did that S**t.” This statement highlighted the conflicting perceptions of O.J. Simpson among those who interacted with him.
