MTN FA Cup Committee Chairman, Wilson Arthur, has revealed plans to secure radio and TV rights deals ahead of the upcoming Ghana football season. This comes after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ended their partnership with StarTimes, who held the rights for the FA Cup in the 2023/24 football season.
Arthur emphasized the importance of generating enough revenue from the domestic competition to enhance its quality and attract more fans. He highlighted the need for radio and TV rights to bring in additional revenue and promote all matches effectively.
During the GFA’s 30th Ordinary Congress, Arthur stated, “All the matches will be promoted. Football is showbiz; when you don’t promote it and you just show up and play, it’s not the same. So we will improve on the promotion of the matches and players so they feel like stars and perform like stars.”
Nsoatreman FC emerged as the champions of the 2023/24 FA Cup by defeating Bofoakwa Tano in the final at the University of Ghana Stadium. With plans to secure radio and TV rights deals, the upcoming season promises to be even more exciting and engaging for fans across the country.
