Did Oscar Pistorius lose his medals?

Pistorius’s head injuries from a boating accident in 2009 hampered him throughout 2010, but he came back in 2011 to win gold in the 100m and 400m at the Paralympic Global Cup before qualifying for the global championships.

Despite not being a member of the relay team that competed in the final, Pistorius received a world championship silver medal for his involvement in the qualifying heats of the 4 400-meter relay. In 2011, he was the 22nd fastest 400-meter runner in the world. Despite the fact that his speeds did not qualify him for the South African Olympic team in 2012, Pistorius was chosen to compete in the individual 400m and the 4 400m relay.

He, however, became the first amputee to compete in track at the Olympics when he ran in the former event at the London Games. Despite reaching the semifinals, Pistorius was unable to move to the medal round. His team made the finals of the 4-400 relay but did not win the medal.
