Tyler Conklin is a tight end for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was born on July 30, 1995. (NFL).
He played college football at Northwood and Central Michigan. In the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings picked him up.
Conklin got a full ride to Northwood University to play basketball after he graduated from high school. He stayed for one semester and played in seven games, with an average of 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 points, and 1.4 assists per game.
But he switched schools in the middle of his freshman year and walked on to the football team at Central Michigan University. Conklin sat out his first season with the Chippewas so he could put on weight. He was too light for the tight end position.
After putting on 25 pounds over the offseason, he got a spot on the backup team in 2015 and caught six passes for 95 yards.
In August 2017, Conklin broke a bone in his left foot during the first one-on-one drill of training camp.
He was given the all-clear to play again on October 7 against Ohio. In that game, he set career highs with 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns, helping his team win 26-23.
