A string of shootings overnight in Canada resulted in the deaths of two persons and the injuries of another two.
Just after 6 a.m. local time, emergency alerts in Langley, a city in British Columbia 30 miles east of Vancouver, warned of “multiple shooting scenes.”
Two guys were discovered deceased, and one other had a leg injury. A woman who was hurt was also taken to the hospital almost afterwards and is now in a severe condition.
Detectives think Jordan Daniel Goggin, a lone shooter, was responsible for their shooting.
Police later shot and killed the 28-year-old suspect, according to chief superintendent Ghalib Bhayani, who spoke at a press conference.
Goggin, who was well-known to neighborhood police officers “but had non-criminal contact,” is thought to have been picking on the city’s homeless population.
The names of the victims have not yet been made public, but there is currently an investigation into the incident, including one into potential motives.
Two black SUVs, resembling those employed by emergency tactical forces, can be seen in terrifying images from the site with many bullet holes on the windshield and windows.
