Tjahjo Kumolo was a politician from Indonesia who was the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.
He formerly served as Minister of Home Affairs in President Joko Widodo’s Working Cabinet from 2014 to 2019. He had been a staunch supporter of former President Megawati Sukarnoputri and a prominent member of her Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

He was a devout Muslim who came from a religiously mixed household.
While his father ultimately became a Nahdlatul Ulama official and his mother a Muhammadiyah activist from Solo, his extended family on both sides belonged to Gereja Kristen Jawi Wetan, a Protestant church.
He asserted that his upbringing in such a family had shaped him into a religious moderate.
