MzVee nominated for BET Awards 2016

This year’s BET Awards ‘surprised’ nominations list which dropped today, May 20, shook everyone in the music industry and social media as well.
While many were expecting the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, E.L, Shatta Wale or even Bisa Kdei to get a nomination, the nomination board took everyone by surprise by nominating Lynx Entertainment artiste, MzVee.
People are still shocked but to Kelly Nii Lartey Mensa, a social media influencer and marketer,  the Black Entertainment (BET) Awards board will nominate you and even win awards when you follow the following four (4) simple rules;

1. Be humble

According to Nii, being humble especially towards industry players is one key factor to artistes’ successful BET Awards nomination. His reasons? He asserted that, most of these (Ghanaian) industry players are consultants on the nominees board and this could be your luck. It sounds good right? Stay humble.

2. Relate well with Ghanaian bloggers

Yes! I agree partially with Nii on this. Creating a good relationship with Ghanaian bloggers will help give you good online presence and even get yourself on top foreign blogs through them. He mentioned that top Ghanaian bloggers such as NY DJ, Ameyaw Debrah, Chris Handler, Zionfelix, Jonilar, can hep make your dream come true. He also advised that, the artistes should give them stories and should be nice if some stories don’t praise them.

3. Get in touch with social media influencers

Social media influencers can make you trend, popular and run successful campaigns so Nii advised that artistes should be friends with them. He stressed that artistes should find a way to tame their fans from attacking them when they post on social media about them. “You need it and if they stop talking about you because of fans trolling, massa it will affect you,” he added.

4. Artistes need digital media agencies

Digital media agencies help in promoting music digitally. In our modern world, sending CDs and DVDs to TV stations all in the name of promo does’t exist anymore. These digital companies who are closed to or have connections with top international cable TVs like BET, MTV Base, Channel O and even local TVs is important in selling your talent abroad.
Ghanaian artistes should learn from this.
