Controversial Ghanaian dance hall artiste, Shatta Wale happens to be an artiste who is showered with a host of chants by his fans and other music patrons. He bears a litany of slogans and chants that are associated with his brand.
The most recent addition to his litany of chants is the “pah pah pah” chant. This chant is fast evolving to become a signature chant for him. He has dropped it in the recent songs he has been recording. He also chants it when he mounts stages to perform.
It however appears this “pah pah pah” chant may not original. In a post on Facebook, Shatta Wale’s arch rival, Stonebwoy has made a disclosure which apparently exposes the lack of originality in Shatta Wale’s “pah pah pah” chant. In a video attached to Stonebwoy’s post, Jamaican reggae/dance hall recording artiste, I-Octane was seen performing at the 2013 Reggae Sumfest. In the course of I-Octane’s performance at the event, I-Octane was heard chanting “pam pam pam”.
This is what Stonebwoy apparently seeks to suggest was the source of Shatta Wale’s “pah pah pah”, hence it cannot be a product of an absolute creativity by Shatta Wale.
